Elfinwild Farms Beef Jerky – Hot Beef Jerky

Saturday, October 23, 2021 Leave a Comment

Elfinwild Farms Beef Jerky - Hot Beef JerkyElfinwild Farms Beef Jerky is one of the newest jerky makers to enter the market, officially debuting in August 2021. With ten years of recipe development, eight years of market research, six years of product testing, and four years of process refining, they were ready to make the jump. Elfinwild Farms Beef Jerky uses only top-inside round Angus, claiming that this cut of beef yields the best results.

For Elfinwild Farms Beef Jerky it all comes down to consistency, time, and temperature. Marinating allows all the ingredients time to penetrate the meat to both flavor and tenderize it. Dehydrating brings the meat to the right temperature and allows just the right amount of moisture to evaporate to preserve it effectively. Resting time is the key to locking in the flavor and bringing all the jerky to the right moisture content that allows it to remain bendable and tender, not dry and brittle like many of our competitors.

Elfinwild Farms Beef Jerky is distributed under the same name as Elfinwild Farms Beef Jerky, and it is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The next review on Elfinwild Farms Beef Jerky will focus on a 3.5 ounce/100 gram bag of their hot flavored beef jerky. This jerky was graciously submitted for review by the founder, Michael J. Mihuc.

Ingredient Review

Beef, Water, Vinegar, Salt, Garlic, Peppercorns, Crushed Red Pepper, Flavorings

Elfinwild Farms Beef Jerky - Hot Beef JerkyThe Angus beef used is ethically raised, meaning it is guaranteed to be free of growth hormones and additional antibiotics. The cattle is not guaranteed to have free range access to roam about and graze on grass the way nature intended. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Very Good (9/10) rating.

The liquid marinade is comprised of just water and healthy vinegar.

Some healthy ingredients added are garlic, peppercorns, and crushed red pepper. Flavorings is a listed ingredient, which may or may not include healthy ingredients.

There is no nutrition facts table provided. As a result, the sugar and salt levels are unknown.

This jerky qualifies to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar unhealthy preservative. With more kudos to Elfinwild Farms Beef Jerky, this jerky has no MSG added.

Taste Review

ELFINWILD FARMS BEEF JERKY – HOT BEEF JERKY

Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker

When I open the bag, I smell something closer to lemon or vinegar, not so much beef. The jerky is somewhat soft and a little moist, and it leaves a slight oily residue on your fingers.

The first flavors I encounter are salt, light pepper, vinegar, soy, natural beef, and an unmistakably intense spicy flavor, much spicier than I had first intended.

The sweet is very manageable, not being an issue. This flavor of jerky is out-of-this-world scrumptious, and it is extremely well-deserving of a superb rating. I am convinced this jerky deserves an emphatic 10/10. It hits it out of the park, a true tape-measure drive to deep center field, over the fence, and beyond the highway. A very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!👍👍

Here is what Mark had to say about this hot beef jerky flavor from Elfinwild Farms Beef Jerky: “Thanks Paul for the great review. I could not agree more, a most memorable hot flavor. This jerky is basted with a glorious tasting hot sauce. The overall taste profile is pristine, where no one flavor overpowers.”

“The heat is at a respectable level. On a heat scale, it would be a 3 out of 5, possibly a 4. The texture is divine, achieved to what I believe is using a vacuum sealed bag, the best way to keep jerky tasting fresh. It would be criminal not to award an Excellent (10/10) taste rating. Agreed, a very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!👍👍”

This 1.75 ounce/51gram bag of jerky sells for $6.95. That works out to $3.97 an ounce, which rates at an expensive price. Free shipping is offered and the price goes down if you order higher quantities.

Excellent (10/10) – Taste Rating

Bag Review

This clear non-resealable plastic bag has a label affixed to the front and nothing on the back. The bag is vacuum-sealed, the best possible way to keep jerky fresh tasting.

There are no slogans printed on this bag. Some facts printed are “A Mild Heat With Flavor Notes of Hickory Smoke and Garlic” and “100% USDA Certified Top Inside Round Angus Beef”.

Some missing bag categories missing are a best before date, United States Department Agriculture (USDA) inspected stamp, distributor details, jerky weight not stated in grams, nutrition facts table, and bar code.

Alright (6/10) – Bag Rating
