Ingredients: Beef, Water, Distilled Vinegar, Tomato Paste, Corn Syrup, Vinegar, Seasonings, Sugar, Brown Sugar, Molasses, Red Pepper, Black Pepper, Hickory Smoke Flavor, Salt, Sodium Nitrate.
The beef used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
This liquid marinade used here is comprised of water, healthy distilled vinegar, healthy tomato paste, and healthy vinegar.
Some healthy ingredients added are seasonings, red pepper, and black pepper.
The sugar level is very low at 1 gram of sugar per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is very high at 580mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
Unhealthy sodium nitrate is used as a preservative to lose a rating. Admirably, this jerky has no MSG added.

When I open the bag I smell absolutely nothing, which is odd. I can’t always pick up what I’m smelling, but I usually pick up some kind of odor. None here. None whatsoever. Weird. The jerky is uniform in size, thickness, and hue (typical for chopped and formed jerky). There is no oily residue left on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky I taste salt at a decent level, next to no sweet, pepper, also at a good level, along with slight garlic and possibly light onion.
This jerky is decent, I cannot slag it much, but it is also rather pedestrian, in that it does not offer anything unique in the terms of flavor. I am enjoying it, but nothing is jumping out at me. I can justify an 8/10, but nothing more.

As advertised with their tagline ‘Tender is an Understatement’, the texture is indeed tender and easy to chew. The seasoning blend is light tasting, which does allow for a good deal of natural beef flavor. A big bonus in our books is that there is no sweetness present.”
“While the flavor profile is well-balanced, I found this flavor to a tad too bit salty tasting, but I can see a lot of people disagreeing with that statement. Stating that this jerky is pedestrian is a bit harsh. This jerky tastes good but there is not much ‘wow’ factor. A unanimous Good (8/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
