In 2018, current CEO James Napier, being a knee down amputee, was determined not to let that disability affect him. James reached out to a friend, fellow patriot, serial entrepreneur, and current COO Lance Wood. Together, while eating some special hot sauces at a local barbecue, James thought that he could sell these hot sauces. In collaboration with their wives, The Patriot Brands LLC was launched shortly afterward selling hot sauces.
James then resurrected his dream of selling jerky. Teaming up with trusted FDA certified processor Kill to Grill with their decades of experience manufacturing jerky, this The Patriot Brands Jerky was officially launched. Late in 2018, The Patriot Brands LLC introduced meat sticks to their line of products for sale. This jerky is distributed by The Patriot Brands LLC, and they are located in Cuba, Missouri.

Ingredient Review

The beef and pork used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
Being that by nature sausages are not whole sliced muscles of meat, one ingredient rating is deducted.
There are some healthy ingredients added such as spices and garlic powder.
There is no nutrition facts table provided. As a result, the exact sugar and salt levels are unknown. With no sugars being listed in the ingredient list, this sausage does qualify to be under 2 grams of sugar per 28 grams of sausage.
These sausages do not qualify to be sodium nitrite free, as sodium nitrite is used outright as a preservative to lose a rating. Commendably, this flavor qualifies to have no MSG added.

The Patriot Brands Summer Sausage is really flavorful. It has a nice, clean and crisp bite. The meat flavor is awesome and it is enhanced by the richness of garlic and onions. These thin slices are oily and the great acidity does a good job at cutting right through it. The flavor profile is well-balanced with an enjoyable floral finish.
As it is the case with The Patriot Brands, they always have very flavorful products and the quality of their ingredient permeates through each and every bites. This summer sausage is yet another great and tasty example of their commitment to what great snacks should be.
I really enjoy The Patriot Brand Summer Sausage and rate it a 10/10 taste rating. Two thumbs way up!!!👍👍”

Agreed that this summer sausage is a treat to eat. These thin sausage slices are fairly greasy, but that is hard to hold against The Patriot Brands Jerky as the oil seeped out over time. Not their fault it took us so long to review.”
“These summer sausages were shared between ten people, where everybody enjoyed the sausages overall. Some comments were about the greasiness, and a sight lack of flavor such as black pepper. Regardless, fans of summer sausage are guaranteed to be satisfied.”
