Albion Hills Farm is a family-based, handcrafted, cured, and smoked meat company that started selling jerky over ten years ago. Influenced by old European traditions, Sam Giuliano started to indulge his lifelong dream of agriculture and the ancient art of drying and curing meats in 1966. At the young age of only ten, Sam began learning the business one step at a time. Working at a small family-owned company, Sam’s vision began to build. At 14, Sam wed his lifelong partner Graziella and began to develop their kingdom shortly after.
Sam recruited his bloodline to grow the family business and teach his kids the ropes in the hope that one day, they would be the second generation to carry on Albion Hills Farm handcrafted meats. The family business decision-making is now influenced by multiple generations of a family whose mission is to provide quality cured and smoked meats to the local communities. The Albion Hills Farm brand name is distributed by Meat Mob, and it is located in Palgrave, Ontario, Canada.
The first review on Albion Hills Farm will focus on a 1.76 ounce/50 gram bag of their Original flavoured beef jerky. This flavour is described as a super dry, salty beef jerky with an intense flavour. The bag was purchased at the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Beef, Water, Salt, Spices, Brown Sugar, Dextrose, Sodium Ascorbate, Sodium Nitrite.
100% grass-fed beef is used here, just the way nature intended. These cattle are raised ethically, meaning they are not fed growth hormones or additional antibiotics. There is also some free range access for the cattle to roam about. As a result, the ingredient rating starts at Excellent (10/10).
This liquid marinade is only composed of plain old water.
The only healthy ingredient added is spices.
The sugar level is perfect at 0 grams of sugar per 100 grams of jerky. The salt level is acceptable at 750mg of salt per 100 grams of jerky.
This jerky does not qualify to have no sodium nitrite added as sodium nitrite is used outright to lose a rating. Admirably, this jerky does qualify to have no MSG added.

ALBION HILLS FARM – ORIGINAL BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell only natural beef. The jerky consists of only one large piece, sliced thin. The jerky is rigid and very dry, not to mention a bit of the right kind of chewy, precisely as our forefathers intended. There is no oily residue whatsoever.
When I bite into the jerky I immediately pick up on salt, at a decent level, but by no means overboard. There is next to no sweet, another positive. I am picking up on mild garlic and some other flavour, but a spice of some kind, possibly coriander? Again, I’m not quite sure, but it’s tasty.
Overall, this flavour of jerky is delicious for an original flavour. It has been a very enjoyable taste experience, and it is a flavour I encourage other jerky aficionados to try because they will unanimously agree. I am prepared to give this flavour of jerky a well-deserved 10/10, no debate. Gentlemen?

Albion Hills Farm – Original Beef Jerky, the texture and aroma are pleasant. I’ve tried this jerky a few times over the weekend, and I struggled to wrap my mind around the flavour. I tried again today, and the beefy flavour comes out well, paired with a nice smokiness. The saltiness is balanced and not overdone. I also appreciate the minor tingling on the tongue.
I’ve reconsidered my position regarding this jerky, which is much more favourable. The flavour, texture, and aroma are on par. I have learned two important lessons while enjoying this jerky. The number one is to try a few bites and always keep an open mind. The second lesson is to slow down on the edibles and pace yourself. That stuff is not running out of style any time soon, and it’ll still be around tomorrow.
Anywho, I’d rate this jerky a 10/10 Taste Rating. Godspeed!
Here is what Mark had to say about this Original beef jerky flavour from Albion Hills Farm: “Thanks Paul and Stéphane for the interesting taste reviews. What set this jerky apart for me was the rich beef flavour. These jerky strips are a cut above your standard fare jerky and downright delicious. Albion Hills Farm later confirmed that this jerky uses 100% grass-fed beef, where you can taste the difference.”
“I disagree that these strips were sliced thin. While not sliced thick, these strips are thick enough to appreciate the natural beef flavor. The spices are mild and pleasant tasting, with what we love, very little sweetness. This original flavour grew on Stéphane, who eventually came around. It is a unanimous Excellent (10/10) taste rating. A very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!👍👍”
This 1.76 ounce/50 gram bag of jerky costs $10.00. That works out to $5.68 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price.
