Launched in 2019, Spittin’ Good Alpaca Meats is a niche, small scale jerky and snack stick brand built around the idea of introducing Alpaca as a unique, healthy alternative protein to the traditional meat snack market. Founded out of a passion for jerky and meat sticks, the company set out to offer something different, choosing Alpaca for its lean, flavorful, and traceable qualities. The brand emphasizes a strong commitment to local sourcing, with Alpacas raised on nearby farms that are grass-fed and free from antibiotics, hormones, and steroids, while all aspects of production, from processing to packaging, are kept within the local community. This focus on transparency, animal care, and regional supply chains gives the company an artisanal, farm to snack identity.
By combining novelty with a health conscious positioning, Spittin’ Good Alpaca Meats has carved out a distinctive place in the jerky space, appealing to adventurous consumers seeking cleaner ingredients and an alternative to conventional beef snacks. This Spittin’ Good Alpaca Meats Alpaca stick brand is distributed under the name Spittin’ Good Alpaca Meats, located in Paris, Missouri. This Alpaca stick is manufactured by Swiss Processing Plant Inc., and is located in Hermann, Missouri.
The first review on Spittin’ Good Alpaca Meats will focus on a 1 oz/28g bag of their Original flavored Alpaca stick. This bag was purchased at a Beef Jerky Outlet store in Solvang, California.

The only healthy ingredients added are spices and garlic powder.
The artificial color red #40, red #3, or an equivalent is likely used in the collagen casing to lose a rating.

SPITTIN’ GOOD ALPACA MEATS – ORIGINAL ALPACA STIX
Written by guest beef stick reviewer Paul Rekker
When I bite the top off the meat stick bag I smell vinegar, which is typical of a meat stick. The meat stick looks pretty much exactly like any other meat stick, both in length and girth. The meat stick feels kind of soft, but that is yet to be determined.
When I bite into the meat stick, I find no “pop” whatsoever to the collagen casing. The meat stick is soft, for sure, and somewhat moist.
The flavors I encounter are salt, at a decent level, and minimal sweetness, which is a good thing. I certainly detect both the pepper and the garlic, which are both at decent levels. I have to agree, I feel like I am not actually eating beef, however, in my wildest dreams, I would never have guessed Alpaca. I believe I have tried Alpaca jerky only once or twice before, so I am by no means a professional, but I just knew I was not eating beef.
Overall, a very favorable flavor, but because of no “pop” to the collagen casing, I am awarding a 9/10. Gentlemen?
Here is what Mark had to say about this Original Alpaca stix from Spittin’ Good Alpaca Meats: “Thanks Paul for the positive taste review. It is true that there is almost no ‘snap’ in this texture. I found the sourness, which is similar to the taste of vinegar, from the lactic acid starter culture to be at a strong level. The sourness is strong enough that I cannot determine if I am eating beef, pork, or Alpaca.”
“The overall taste profile is somewhat simple and typical for a meat stick. I agree with Paul that there is minimal sweetness present, a huge plus in our books. While this is a highly enjoyable snack, I am deducting two ratings for the lack of ‘snap’ and there is not much ‘wow’ factor present. With Paul at a 9 and myself at an 8, a Very Good (9/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 1 ounce/28 gram bag sold for $3.99, which rates as an expensive price.

Bag Review
This plastic bag has everything printed on it, both on the front and back. There is an illustration of an Alpaca on the front dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. This bag is vacuum sealed, the best way to keep the product fresh tasting.
There are no slogans printed on this bag. Some facts printed are “Hickory Smoked”, Fully Cooked”, and “Alpaca and Beef used is 96.6% Alpaca”.
Some missing bag categories are a blurb about the company or the Alpaca stick, the weight not stated in grams, and a nutrition facts table.
