MIGHTY PROTEIN – BUFFALO CHICKEN STICK
Written by guest chicken stick reviewer Paul Rekker
When I bite open the bag I smell chicken. Big time. It is the most prevalent smell I encounter. The chicken stick looks just like any other meat (chicken) stick, in shape, size, and girth. There is no oily residue left on your fingers.
When I bite into the chicken stick, I experience a solid “snap” to the collagen casing, a very good (and somewhat rare) thing. The flavors are plentiful. I taste salt at a decent rate, minimal sugar (a good thing), pepper, and garlic at similar levels, moderate at best. I taste a bit of a kick, not overpowering, but definitely noticeable.
A decent tasting chicken stick, definitely a cut above most, leading me to a definitive 8.5/10, rounding up to a 9/10. Gentlemen?

I enjoyed the Maple Leaf Buffalo Chicken Sticks, this is a very tasty meat stick. The saltiness is on par with what is to be expected from this type of snack.
The Buffalo flavor is well developed and pairs nicely with a splash of acidity. The flavor pops, and it is centered around the Buffalo taste. The texture is lean, and it sets the meat stick with a clean and pleasant bite that builds on the quality of the product.
I find this chicken meat stick to be very addictive and good quality. I’d rate it a 10\10 Taste Rating.
Here is what Mark had to say about this Buffalo chicken stick flavour from Mighty Protein: “Thanks Paul and Stéphane for the positive taste reviews. First off, the ‘snap’ in this texture is fantastic. Plus there is plenty of depth with the texture, unlike some meat sticks where it feels as if you are chewing mush. With a ‘buffalo’ flavor, the heat is apparent without going overboard. The heat would rate a 1 out of 4 or a 2 out of 5 on the heat scale.
“As Stéphane noted, the overall taste profile is well balanced. You can certainly tell that you are not eating beef or pork. As Paul noted, thankfully there is no sweetness present”. While this chicken stick was an enjoyable snack and I have no clear cut complaints, there is not all that much ‘wow’ factor other than the ‘snap’ of the texture. With Paul and I at a 9 and Stéphane at a 10, a Very Good (9/10) taste rating will be awrded.”
This 1.12 ounce/125 gram bag of chicken stick was sold for $1.78. That works out to $2.95 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price.

Bag Review
This orange plastic bag has everything affixed to the front and back. There is an illustration of a chicken on the front. The bag is vacuum sealed, which is the best way to keep the chicken stick fresh tasting.
A slogan printed on this bag is “Meat. Cute”. Some facts printed are “Sausage”, “12g Protein”, “0g Sugar”, and “110 Calories”.
The only missing bag category is a blurb about the chicken stick or flavour, which is normal for a meat stick. As per Canadian law, French translations are provided. To the credit of Mighty Protein, a toll free phone number is provided for customer inquiries.
